This role is for a hands-on person with great attention to detail and excellent people skills. This role will begin on day shift for the first 6 months, then transfer to weekend night shift for the foreseeable future. Weekend night shift will be Thursday - Sunday, from 1500 - 0130. This is a full-time position located in Las Cruces, New Mexico with direct work occurring at the home of Virgin Galactic’s commercial operations at Spaceport America. Position Summary
Virgin Galactic (VG) is seeking an incredibly talented, energetic, and experienced Facilities Maintenance Assistant (FMA) to join our facilities team. The ideal candidate will be an experienced general assistant that will be helping the Facilities Maintenance Technicians with the cleaning and upkeep of our facilities. The FMA’s primary responsibility will be to provide custodial care for the facilities and will assist in the following areas but is not limited to: basic carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, or associated work on VG facilities using hand and power tools as directed and will troubleshoot equipment or facilities problems and report to the Gateway Facilities Manager.  They must be a self-starter, project oriented, able to assess needs, implement strategies, and quickly produce results with a high attention to detail.  Prior experience in a fast-paced start-up environment is beneficial. This role will be based in Las Cruces, New Mexico with daily work occurring at Spaceport America. Who You Are
The Spaceship Company (TSC) is seeking an experienced composites bonding, assembly, fabrication, and test technician to join our dynamic Spaceship Propulsion Team. This Spaceship Propulsion Production Technician is for a hands-on person with great attention to detail and excellent people skills. If you have a great attitude and a creative mind then you will feel right at home in this organization! The first task of this role will be to quickly learn and understand our unique bonding and assembly processes used in the production of our hybrid rocket motors. The technician in this position will work from engineering drawings and detailed work instructions to fabricate top quality propulsion components. You will find yourself amongst the best and brightest while being part of a pioneering organization!

 

*This role will initially be located in Long Beach, CA at the site of our sister company, Virgin Orbit. The estimated time in Long Beach is 18 months at which time the role will transition to our campus in Mojave. We are looking for candidates that will commit to relocating as required.

The purpose of this role will be to support develop and maintain structural repair manuals and tools, stress analysis on repairs and critical interfaces, structural discrepancy dispositions and establish a structural health and monitoring system and metrics for Spaceship2 (SS2)/ WhiteKnight2 (WK2) vehicles structures systems.  This role is located in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Daily work will take place at Spaceport America in New Mexico. TSC is seeking a first rate aircraft materials and processes engineer with experience in composite materials, testing, out-of-autoclave processing, as well as bonded assemblies. The engineer in this role will be expected to fully understand and maintain the materials and processes used in the manufacture of WK2 and SS2. The primary task of this role will be to design and carry-out mechanical testing to support structural analysis of both current and future vehicle builds. This will require consultation and buy-in from stakeholders in various departments so strong interpersonal skills are also necessary. The engineer in this role is expected to be knowledgeable of basic mechanical testing methods, and familiar with composite and paste adhesive properties. An additional task of this role will be to review/write manufacturing procedures and processes to ensure compliance with design specifications.
