The QA Specialist applies the standards, principles and techniques of auditing to examine, question, evaluate and report a quality system’s specified criteria. Who You Are

VG is seeking an incredibly talented, energetic, and experienced Business Support Specialist to join our team. You will have a wide variety of responsibilities including many of a complex and/or confidential manner. The ideal candidate will be a functional member of the administrative team but assigned to directly support a substantially sized technical operations organization that is made up of maintenance, engineering and quality personnel in a busy ITAR compliant facility. You must be comfortable rolling up your sleeves, working with minimal supervision, and performing many responsibilities simultaneously. You must be a self-starter, project oriented, able to assess needs, implement processes, and quickly produce results with a high attention to detail. Prior experience in a fast-paced start-up environment is beneficial. Position Summary
Virgin Galactic is seeking an incredibly talented, energetic, and experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician (FMT) to join our facilities team at our New Mexico offices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the facilities are well maintained and that they are ready and operating at their best at all times. They will need to maintain strong relationships with the maintenance team members at Spaceport America, any of their contractors as well as other Virgin Galactic team members and contractors. They will be responsible for the facilities as they perform routine repairs, maintenance, cleaning, and assistance to all co-workers which have tasks needing to be completed by the facilities team.

 

The FMT will also perform basic carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, janitorial or associated work on VG facilities using hand and power tools as directed and will troubleshoot equipment or facilities problems and report to the Facilities Management. They must be a self-starter, project oriented, able to assess needs, implement strategies, and quickly produce results with a high attention to detail. The key measure of success is well maintained buildings that always provide VG Operations with commercial readiness to successfully operate spaceflight and customer activities.

TSC is seeking an engineering manager with experience in the development and production of hybrid propulsion systems to lead a team of production engineers. Significant experience with liquid or solid propulsion systems would also be considered. Ideal candidates would have experience working from high level requirements to develop production plans, designs, concept-of-operations, budgets and schedules that the candidate maintained responsibility for throughout the entire development, qualification and manufacturing process.

 

In addition experience with ground support equipment, component qualification/substantiation, motor fabrication and casting, material testing, rocket motor qualification and acceptance testing is a plus. Candidate will also be comfortable working in a hands on environment, and must have a strong sense of accountability.

The primary task of this role will be to ensure compliance with company policies, practices, procedures and work rules to support and maintain an AS9100-compliant Quality Management System (QMS). The first task of this role will be to review stress reports and finite element models developed by TSC engineering to assess the airworthiness of current flight test vehicles. The second task will be to lead a small team of stress analysts to support the design engineering staff with stress analysis as weight reduction opportunities are identified or as design reinforcements are identified to handle increased vehicle weights. TSC is seeking a Senior Engineer, Stress Analysis with extensive experience in vehicle stress analysis, repairs, and production manufacturing for both metallics and composites. The Senior Stress Analyst will act as a subject matter expert for the stress team while giving guidance on finite element and classical analysis methods, material property and allowables development and deriving requirements from first principles. Additionally, the role requires compilation of analysis, reports, models, and margins into standardized formats for upload into TSC’s product lifecycle manager. TSC is seeking an experienced and qualified Engineer with propulsion experience. The first task of this role will be to help establish the automated manufacturing process flow and documentation for building selected portions of composite overwrapped pressure vessels (COPVs). The engineer in this position will help define what automated production equipment, tools, systems, and materials will be required in order to create an efficient, organized, and lean factory. After production operations begin, the engineer will support automated production development work of the COPVs and work on process improvement and production optimization using lean processes and tools. An additional task of this role will be to help establish the requirements and documentation for tests in support of the SS2 Hybrid Propulsion System. The engineer in this position will help define what equipment, process, systems, and materials will be required in order to perform safe, repeatable, and efficient tests.
