Your Mission

As the Project Manager for Spaceship 2 Technical Publications, you will serve as the lead of the integrated team responsible for completing the scope of all requirements to deliver and maintain Spaceship technical publications supporting operational service.  As the Project Leader you will be responsible for planning, executing the scope of technical publications including and not limited to the adequacy of technical source data, coordination with suppliers, validation and verification on Spaceships (as required), alignment with Quality and Airworthiness, and coordination with Operations to capture and implement redlines/improvements.  This may include managing, dispositioning, and incorporating customer (Vehicle Operations) feedback as part of our Lean Philosophy supporting the systemization of a continuous improvement core capability.   You will be responsible for developing and meeting requirements as well as and executing a program plan within the approved cost, schedule, and budget. 


  • Lead the Integrated Project Team responsible for requirements capture through deployment for continuous improvement activities
  • With the project team, develop and maintain a detailed program plan (Integrated Master Schedule) for each area where work force readiness is required.  This will include using the appropriate programmatic tools to measure performance and track progress.
  • Execute the approved project plan with accountability for cost, scope, and schedule against the approved program baseline and provide program updates as required by executive team.
  • Proactively maintain and track program risks and opportunities and provide mitigation plans as needed.
  • Work cross-functionally to continuously identify gaps in the employee engagement, continuous improvement, and then develop and execute strategies to close those gaps.
  • Assess current learning trends in various industries such as manufacturing, aerospace, and operations to enhance and maintain high quality training opportunities.
  • Regularly report to executive leadership, internal and external customers, and the wider organization the team’s performance in the areas of quality, scope, cost, and schedule.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • 5 years’ experience working in continuous improvement environment (technical or other)
  • Experience providing project leadership for a multidisciplinary/functional team demonstrating a track record of success
  • Experience program/project execution including monitoring and control through program measures, such as but not limited to budget fidelity, resource fill rate, CPI/SPI (Earned Value), and product cost measures
  • Experience with Aerospace vehicle/System development, transition into production, and entry into service.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in a complex, and rapidly evolving business environment
  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
  • Self-directed with demonstrated passion for our mission
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Project

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline with a preference toward aerospace, mechanical, or manufacturing from an accredited Institution
  • 7 years’ experience working in an aftermarket support organization (technical or other)
  • Familiarity with S1000D
  • Experience developing successful supplier partnerships with training suppliers
  • Experience with Oracle or Ultramain
  • Experience providing leadership and management for multidisciplinary teams of engineering, manufacturing, and business support personnel
  • Experience with business case development and strategic planning

ITAR Requirements

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
