Your Mission

As Talent Onboarding Specialist you will play a key role in organizing and facilitating the onboarding of all Virgin Galactic’s new hires. In this role you will be communicating position details to new hires, gathering necessary new hire paperwork, keeping both manager and new hires up to speed with details as the start date approaches and most importantly, outlining orientation and the new hires first days with their team.

 

Responsibilities

  • Communication with new hires from offer letter to start date, keeping new hires engaged and excited until they begin with VG
  • Making sure all candidates have a positive and first-class experience when dealing with all onboarding aspects
  • Collecting all new hire documentation, as needed
  • Work closely with the HR business partners
  • Craft and send emails with information about the company and position, including work schedules, dress code and parking options
  • Conduct office tours, as needed
  • Prepare onboarding kits (e.g., stationary, T-shirts and mugs)
  • Lead new hire orientation
  • Coordinate badge photos to be taken during orientation
  • Properly introduce, via welcome email, the new hires to their team members and all necessary departments/individuals they will be working with
  • Coordinate with the Tech Team to make sure all equipment is set up for new hires first day and that tech is readily available should there be any issues.
  • Assist in distributing and explaining manuals, passwords and company webpages needed
  • Handle internal conversions of Virgin Galactic contractors to full time employees

What you bring

  • 5+ years Human Resources or Talent experience
  • Degree in Human Resource Management or related field
  • Basic knowledge of employee benefits and onboarding
  • Experience with HRIS or ATS systems
  • Great communicator and ability to work cross functionally with various stakeholders & C-Suite executives.
  • Professional, high integrity, smart & gets things done.
  • Experience of working in a start-up environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by the ITAR (22 CFR §120.15)

ITAR Requirements

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

 

As part of our commitment to health and safety, COVID-19 vaccines are required for current U.S. teammates, as well as all newly hired employees. 

As of October 1, 2021, all new hires must be able to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus, ( “fully vaccinated” means at least two weeks have expired since receiving the vaccination’s last dose as recommended by the manufacturer) .
