Your Mission

This position will help transition the organization to the next level in our journey to commercial operations. This is a unique opportunity to apply your business and financial acumen as well as project management and leadership skills. The Sr. Manager, Business Operations will manage a small team and report to the Sr. Director of Program and Business Operations with the mission to help establish a world-class Operating System in our Aerospace business. Among other special assignments, your focus will be on resource management, financials, and analytics. This role is located in Tustin, CA.



  • Work with the Sr. Managers, Program Planning and Control as well as Aerospace Leadership team to establish a process for the yearly budgeting effort and a system to track progress
  • Interface with Finance to get inputs for Programmatic Financials budgeting and reporting
  • Oversee the process of resource utilization across a wide portfolio of efforts. Work cross-functionally to establish a process for program resource management, document, roll out, and audit the process. Oversee tracking of new hires/contractors and their on-boarding process. Partner with Sr. Managers of Program Planning and Control to develop metrics to measure the success of the labor utilization efforts across all programs
  • Perform business analytics, as needed
  • Initiate and lead special projects
  • While reporting into Aerospace, interface with Space Missions and Safety business
  • Support the roll out of process improvement efforts

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience
  • Financial and Business acumen
  • Experience managing others
  • Experience managing program labor resources / resource utilization for large efforts
  • Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional IPTs to collect requirements, understand customer needs, develop, and deliver a solution
  • Knowledge of program financials concepts/ EVMS
  • Experience with program and department budgets
  • Demonstrated experience managing, consolidating, and analyzing large amount of data
  • Very detailed oriented and able to produce timely and accurate detailed reports and executive summaries
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations
  • Effective communicator, shop to C-level
  • Experience with forecast, actuals, and variances
  • Experience leading by influence
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Results oriented
  • Ability to turn ambiguous requirements into straight-forward solutions
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of self-motivation, enthusiasm, and curiosity
  • Strong in PowerPoint and Excel


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree
  • Aerospace industry
  • Six Sigma Green Belt, Lean Expert or 5 years of demonstrated experience improving processes.
  • Primavera experience
  • Oracle Experience
  • Project Management experience and/or PMP
  • Experience working in Aerospace


ITAR Requirements
To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
