Your Mission

You will be responsible for operating the Barista Station at the Rocket Bar, the break room and the hosting experience in our FLIGHT head office, always aiming to look after our internal and external guests you serve the best cup of coffee in town. Both our team and guests will rely on you and your impeccable and friendly service and care. You will be responsible for the experience and upkeep of the office as well as the people that work there and its visitors.


Reports to: You report to the GM Astronaut Experience and Hospitality


What does it take to become part of our team?

  • Your impeccable, friendly service is paramount! You will be able to work well operationally, managing all F&B related aspects of the office.
  • Your abilities to multitask and prioritize are essential and you always bring a smile to work. You are organized, creative, and super passionate about hospitality.
  • You are an experienced barista who is armed with coffee knowledge. You manage the daily operations, other responsibilities include welcoming and hosting guest; upkeeping of break areas, managing supplies; and supporting the office team.



  • Your work hours are Monday to Friday from 9am – 5pm
  • Ability to work 6+ hours on your feet at a time.
  • Overtime will be paid for the additional hours worked.
  • You need to be in possession of a valid driver’s licence
  • Team player who looks for ways to help other employees whenever needed.
  • Willingness to work a holiday if required.
  • Actively engages in training sessions regarding the company.
  • Pays detailed attention to uniform and grooming guidelines. (Currently we have not yet received uniform.)

Job Specific

  • Welcomes and cares for guests and team members in our FLGHT office,
  • Operates the espresso machine at the Rocket Bar
  • Prepares and serves Espresso and other drinks of our menu
  • Maintains any other Nespresso machines in the office.
  • Prepares and serves coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as, espresso, caffe latte, and cappuccino, but also teas and blended drinks.
  • Maintains coffee grinding and brewing equipment.
  • Maintains a fresh and interesting looking food display on the Rocket bar and in the breakroom
  • Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment.
  • Maintaining F&B related items on display in the Rocket Bar and Break room
  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling Facilities for repairs.
  • Ordering of supplies including snacks and drinks
  • Support the set up and execution of (internal) events taking place at the office.
  • Support any catering set up
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
  • Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes; maintaining and improving the appearance of the Rocket Bar.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading coffee, retail trade, and food service publications; maintaining personal networks.
  • Supports the coordination of a potential breakfast, lunch coordination with caterer
  • Manages related storage to a clean and organised standard
  • Ensures a par stock and job-related equipment.

What you bring

  • Must be able to work all shifts and available for overtime as well as weekends when needed.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods – 6 hours min.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to manoeuvre in tight spaces.
  • Physically able to handle items weighing up to 40lbs (unassisted).
  • Must be in possession of a up to date food handlers’ certificate


ITAR Requirements

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.


As part of our commitment to health and safety, COVID-19 vaccines are required for current U.S. teammates, as well as all newly hired employees. 

As of October 1, 2021, all new hires must be able to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus, ( “fully vaccinated” means at least two weeks have expired since receiving the vaccination’s last dose as recommended by the manufacturer) . If  you are offered employment, this requirement must be met by your date of hire.
