Your Mission

Your Mission

  • Support execution of fatigue and damage tolerance evaluation based on customer requirements including:
    • Produce detailed fatigue and damage tolerance substantiation.
    • Develop substantiation documentation related to requirements including:
      • Test plans and results reports
      • Analysis documents
    • Collaborate with other engineering functions and subject matter experts on system level details including assembly and subassembly requirements.
    • Support production build thru dispositions of non-conformance issues.
  • Execute other duties as required to support company and program objectives.

What you bring

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of applicable experience in the analysis of Primary Structural systems using strength of materials methods on primary aircraft/spacecraft structure on both Composites and Metallic Structures.
  • More than five (5) years of combined experience with Fatigue and/or Damage Tolerance
  • Excellent engineering analytical and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by the ITAR (22 CFR §120.15).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or similar Engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent computer skills, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

 

Preferred Skills and Experience.

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in composite Damage Tolerance substantiation
  • Experience in composite fabrication, design and analysis processes.
  • Familiarity with space flight vehicles, rocket propulsion systems and components.
  • Knowledge of FAA Part 23 and 25 FARs related to fatigue and damage tolerance.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Femap and Nastran.
  • Spacecraft and launch vehicle structural analysis, design, build and test experience.
  • Experience with fatigue spectrum generation and manipulation.
  • Experience with NASGRO crack growth analysis software.
  • Familiarity with material coupon, component and/or vehicle level fatigue and damage tolerance testing.

 

Physical and/or Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to work all shifts and available for overtime as well as weekends when needed.

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
