Your Mission

This is a unique opportunity to utilize your proven process management, project management, and leadership skills as well as your passion for cadence, discipline, and accountability. This position will help transition the organization to the next level in our journey to commercial operations. You will help to shape, enable, and drive our Management Operating System (a business framework that aligns activities to goals and enables continuous improvement). The MOS Manager will report to the Sr. Director of Program and Business Operations with the mission to establish a world-class Operating System in our Aerospace business. This is an individual contributor position, located in Tustin, CA or Mojave, CA.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Sr. Director of Program and Business Operations as well as the Aerospace Leadership team to establish, roll out and continuously improve Aerospace MOS
  • Document MOS, create process Standard Work and Leader Standard Work
  • Put MOS process controls in place, measure success, audit process to reinforce compliance
  • Manage the overall process and ensure organizational execution to the established operating system
  • Be a change agent whose enthusiasm about continuous improvement and tenacity are contagious
  • Other responsibilities may include: facilitate cross-functional discussions focused on identifying areas for improvement and defining future state; document new or update existing processes, create standard work, assist with the roll out
  • Be able to apply continuous improvement and/or lean methodology to an administrative environment and explain basic lean/continuous improvement principles in simple terms, as needed

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience, preferably in an aerospace and/or continuous improvement environment
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or 5 years of demonstrated experience improving processes.
  • Financial and Business acumen
  • Proven experience establishing, rolling out, managing MOS
  • Demonstrated experience enabling and holding a large team accountable to execute in accordance with the established cadence
  • Ability to drive accountability across various levels of organization
  • Experience leading by influence, passionate about transformation, process, and disciple
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Successful track record improving processes in an administrative environment
  • Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams to improve processes, develop and implement standard work
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively, deal with ambiguity, and manage changing priorities
  • Results oriented
  • Can work independently with a high degree of self-motivation, enthusiasm, and curiosity
  • Effective communicator, shop to C-level, ability to facilitate a brainstorming session and lead a team to a decision or consensus
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations and training
  • Strong in PowerPoint, Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lean Expert certified
  • Project Management experience and/or PMP
  • Experience working in Aerospace

 

ITAR Requirements
To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
