The IT Intern will work in close coordination with the IT Support Team performing all activities associated with imaging, configuring, installing, supporting and maintaining a wide range of IT hardware, software and services. This position requires excellent hardware and software troubleshooting skills, general networking knowledge, ability to follow directions, communicate effectively, capability to be a self-starter, and a passion for working in IT. Experience in supporting an Engineering environment is a plus. 



  • Image new desktops and laptops for deployment
  • Deploy laptops, desktops, docks, monitors, IP phones and other misc. IT equipment
  • Coordinate weekly new hire list with HR and IT
  • Research and procure hardware and software as requested and for inventory
  • Facilitate the work of the IT team by providing support in many aspects
  • Serve as first point of contact for IT office walk-ins
  • Perform first level IT tasks, such as unlocking domain accounts, installing printers and software, processing paperwork for security access requests, and other related duties
  • Create IT tickets and assign to appropriate technicians
  • Maintain stockroom containing stored assets
  • Assist users in resolving computer hardware and software issues
  • Ensure quick response times to facilitate maximum uptime for all users and systems
  • Configure, deploy, fix, and provide troubleshooting support based on either documented procedures or directive for the following hardware and software:
    • Desktop, Laptop, and Tablet Computers
    • Multifunction Printers
    • Telecommunication  Systems – wired, wireless and cellular including iPhones and iPads
  • Assist users with supported software and hardware with the approach of understanding of technology from a user’s perspective while providing an expert level of support
  • Escalate unknown/unsolved issues to appropriate internal or external support resources
  • Discuss with users best practices for PC maintenance and performance
  • Maintain, track, and control related inventory
  • Utilize third party tools to improve support efficiency
  • Collaborate with co-workers to share expertise, information and solve problems
  • Other duties as assigned by Team Lead/Manager


What you bring


  • Currently enrolled in an ABET accredited university, pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant degree program
  • A top notch education including formal training, awards, internship experience, high GPA, a top of class student
  • Education so amazing that it distinguishes the candidate among any applicants regardless of work experience
  • Minimum 3.5 GPA strongly preferred
  • Outstanding customer service skills along with excellent hardware and software troubleshooting skills

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • 1 - 2 years of previous IT tech support experience in corporate environment
  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Windows & Office technologies (Windows XP/7/8/10 as well as Office/Outlook/Excel/Word and PowerPoint)
  • Create a high level of user satisfaction through accurate and timely follow-up & strong technical skills
  • Must demonstrate superior organization and time management skills
  • Ability to routinely lift 20-40 lbs and occasionally lift and move 50+ lbs 
  • Experience with the following:
    • WAN/LAN topology
    • TCP/IP
    • Active Directory
    • Various telephone landline and wireless services & equipment support

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
