The Spaceship Company (TSC) is Virgin Galactic’s wholly owned space-system manufacturing organization. Headquartered at Mojave Air and Space Port in Mojave, California, it is building and testing a fleet of WhiteKnightTwo carrier aircraft and SpaceShipTwo reusable spaceships that, together, form Virgin Galactic’s human spaceflight system. Who You Are
The Spaceship Company (TSC) is seeking a new member for our team to serve as Avionics Integration Engineer. If you join us in this position, you will assist in the design, testing, and integration of avionics and electrical systems for the SpaceShipTwo and WhiteKnight2 program. This role is for a hands-on person with great attention to detail and excellent people skills.

Your Mission

  • Design, test, and integration of Aircraft electrical systems and components including TSC and COTS hardware
  • Develop, integrate and test avionics and Vehicle systems to meet requirements, company standards and Federal Regulations
  • Be involved in all aspects of electrical and electronic design including Vehicle wire harness assemblies, vehicle avionics and systems
  • Proactively work within cross functional teams to analyze and solve complex problems driven by data, testing, and analyses
  • Work on and drive projects to completion during all phases of product lifecycle
  • Constantly learn new things and share them with your team members

What you bring


  • B.S. Electrical Engineering degree plus 0-2 years relevant experience
  • A strong grasp of electronics hardware design and test
  • Experience with test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Protocol Analyzers, DVMs and working in lab environment including soldering and reworking PCAs
  • A good working knowledge with Matlab, Labview and Simulink
  • Be able to create electrical schematics, carry out PCB layout using Electrical CAD tools such as Altium, Orcad
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex problems
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Be able to think outside of the box. Work on projects with minimal direction as needed
  • Highly organized and detail orientated individual with a passion to make the impossible possible


ITAR Requirements
To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
