Your Mission

Virgin Galactic is seeking a Medical and Training Coordinator to join our exceptional medical and training teams right here in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Our medical staff’s #1 priority is the safety of our pilots, future astronauts, and our teammates assisting with flight operations. Your mission will include overseeing the record keeping, scheduling, training and event coordination, medical supply inventory, working with external vendors, partnering with our safety and security teams, and other related tasks. You will be the go-to person to make sure the I’s are dotted and the T’s crossed. Take a moment to review the below requirements. Location: Las Cruces, NM & Spaceport America, NM

 

Responsibilities

  • Integrate the record keeping for the medical and training teams
  • Administer the Electronic Health Record system
  • Support the development and management of various programs by drafting/editing/publishing the requested information
  • Assist and coordinate training and testing amongst specific teams and across the company
  • Coordinate key medical team events
  • Inventory the medical/training supply and equipment
  • Track the Future Astronaut medical information
  • Assist in the Behavioral Health assessments and screenings
  • Gather and process human and vehicle data
  • Support with flight week by working with the Medical Go Team and/or the Chief Astronaut Instructor activities
  • Partner and manage external vendor contracts
  • Schedule and communicate items to the team regarding doctor coverage, pilot and Future Astronaut exams
  • Utilize the Online health record management system
  • Maintain the pilot medical records and track the physician credentials

What you bring

  • 5 years of business experience that includes office administration related tasks
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a science related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Medical or legal record management experience
  • Advanced computer skills – scheduling, data management
  • Contract management experience
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Team player and service-oriented attitude

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of additional experience as an EMT or working in a hospital environment
  • Additional certifications or degrees in science, medicine, or other business-related fields

 

Physical and/or Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight spaces.
  • Physically able to handle items weighing up to 40lbs.

 

ITAR Requirements

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
