    The Spaceship Company (TSC) is an affiliate of Virgin Galactic as a space-system manufacturing organization. Headquartered at Mojave Air and Space Port in Mojave, California, it is building and testing a fleet of WhiteKnightTwo carrier aircraft and SpaceShipTwo reusable spaceships that, together, form Virgin Galactic’s human spaceflight system.     Who You Are

    TSC is seeking a Business Development Market Analyst to assist the Senior Director of Business Development in supporting ongoing activities and new advanced programs aligned with making dreams take flight. The role will analyze quantitative and qualitative data, trends, strategies, and the competitive landscape with in the aerospace and defense industry to ensure a customer-driven product offering.    

    Your Mission

    • Reduce data on consumers, competitors and market into actionable items, reports and presentations for both commercial and government projects
    • Provide competitive analysis of various companies’ market offerings, market trends, pricing/business models, sales, and methods of operation
    • Present findings, recommendations, and justification through charts, graphs and other visual means to leadership to help make informed decisions
    • Perform valid and reliable market research through analysis models like Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT), Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Environmental and Legal (PESTEL), and others.
    • Develop, maintain, and document tools, templates, and methods for conducting and analyzing market analysis
    • Utilize surveys, focus groups and interviews to gather data as necessary

    What you bring

    • 5+ years of experience in aerospace and defense industry with proven market research analysis experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Marketing or similar business discipline from an accredited institution.
    • Ability to interpret large amount of data and multi-task
    • Adequate knowledge of data collection methods (polls, focus groups, surveys etc)
    • Working knowledge of data warehousing, modeling, and reduction
    • Search engines, web analytics and business research tools acumen
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and empower a team of subject matter experts in varying technical disciplines.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication, excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a high attention to detail
    • Ability to work proactively and with self-initiative

     

    ITAR Requirements

    To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
