    The Spaceship Company (TSC) is an affiliate of Virgin Galactic as a space-system manufacturing organization. Headquartered at Mojave Air and Space Port in Mojave, California, it is building and testing a fleet of WhiteKnightTwo carrier aircraft and SpaceShipTwo reusable spaceships that, together, form Virgin Galactic’s human spaceflight system.     Who You Are

    The Spaceship Company (TSC) is seeking an experienced Capture Manager with a background in aeronautical and space acquisition, as well as government Research, Development, Test and Evaluation. If you join us in this position, you will lead TSC’s efforts in Washington DC to win new opportunities in aerospace programs for the company, as well as contribute to government relations and policy work.  Applicants should be capable of leading capture on multi-year $100M+ opportunities and should have an understanding of the relevant government organizations and markets, including NASA, Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community. This role is for a self-starter with excellent people skills and experience building new business within the government procurement system. This is a full-time position at our D.C Operations Office in Washington, D.C.




    Your Mission

    • Support work on Federal legislation; and related meetings both on the Hill and internationally
    • Strategize and support U.S. and international government Business Development efforts
    • Identify and qualify opportunities in line with TSC’s mission and long term strategy
    • Identify and build relationships for current and future opportunities including generating target call lists and capturing meetings with the appropriate agencies and entities
    • Create Capture Plans in close collaboration with BD Director
    • Support all qualified opportunities throughout the business capture lifecycle, including leading reviews during the proposal process
    • Conduct regular market research for business development and policy initiatives
    • Identifies and attends networking activities such as related professional association meetings
    • Assists in other duties as identified

    What you bring

    • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University
    • Passion and background in aeronautics and space
    • Must have at least 5 years of capture management experience
    • Previous experience working with the U.S. Government
    • Ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment
    • Knowledge of the legislative process
    • Strong communication background
    • Ability to thrive as a ‘one person team’ within a small team
    • Driven, highly motivated, and committed to improvement





    ITAR Requirements

    To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
