    Who You Are

    TSC is seeking a first-rate aerospace Composite Stress Analysis Senior Engineer with experience in vehicle stress analysis, repairs, and production manufacturing.  The senior composite stress analyst will compile analysis, reports, models, and margins of safety into standardized formats for upload into TSC’s product lifecycle manager.  Additionally, the analyst will support the design engineering staff with drawing release. The analyst is ultimately responsible for ensuring the vehicle structural design meets the customer mission requirements with positive margins of safety.  Additionally, the senior engineer will mentor junior engineers and in some cases act in a lead capacity for substantiation of major structural assemblies.

     

    Your Mission

    • Reviews, updates, and compiles engineering analytical definition of structural components and assemblies based on records from the prototype build project
    • Develops standardized analysis criteria and templates
    • Plays an integral role in the work flow release process for all structural designs
    • Supports review of manufacturing plans and procedures to ensure compliance with design and loads requirements
    • Supports the creation of structural test plans which will be used to verify manufacturing
    • Mentors junior engineers

    What you bring

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, with a concentration in a relevant Engineering discipline
    • Knowledge of composites manufacturing and sizing of composite structures using FEA models, including pre and post processing of NASTRAN models and associated sizing of composite structures
    • Minimum 10 years or more of applicable experience in the analysis of structural systems using strength of materials and finite element based methods
    • Experience with free-body diagrams and classical stress analysis techniques
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent computer skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Hands-on experience with composites part fabrication and assembly processes and proficiency in FEMAP a plus
    • Pilot, aircraft homebuilding and rapid prototyping experience a strong plus
    • Experience with the design of flight vehicles or vehicle systems to a set of requirements or standards such as CFR 14, Part 400, Part 23 and 25, military or NASA are highly desired
    • Experience with manufacturing-based ERP systems, such as Oracle, is a plus
