The Spaceship Company (TSC) is an affiliate of Virgin Galactic as a space-system manufacturing organization. Who You Are

TSC is seeking an individual with a strong background and experience in space-related U.S. trade sanctions, compliance implementation, and related investigations (EAR, ITAR, OFAC) to join its compliance team. The individual filling this position must be experienced at drafting and managing export authorizations, including licenses and Technical Assistance Agreements.

Your Mission

  • Work with stakeholders to anticipate needs and proactively seek authorizations.
  • Prepare and submit authorization applications and manage approved authorizations.
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and management of company-wide policies, procedures, controls, and training.
  • Evaluate and weigh multiple inputs and impacts of any decision or course of action.
  • Anticipate issues and identify proactive solutions that will eliminate or mitigate risks.
  • Base your decision making process on ethics and integrity.
  • Create associations of trust and respect with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Deal with complex, significant, and challenging matters.
  • Support internal investigations and audits as directed.

What you bring

  • At least 5 years’ experience focusing on export and import compliance and related matters. Facility with ITAR, EAR, OFAC, FCPA and other regulations pertaining to international trade is most important.
  • Ability to submit authorization applications online.
  • Experience drafting, submitting, and managing various export authorizations, including permanent and temporary export licenses, Technical
  • Assistance Agreements, Warehouse Distribution Agreements, and Manufacturing License Agreements.
  • Experience working with US government agencies responsible for the review of trade compliance, including the Department of State, the
  • Department of Commerce, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Defense Technology Security Administration.
  • Ability to manage multiple requirements and remain composed under pressure.
  • A pro-active and energetic approach that ensures that the corporation’s compliance risks are being anticipated and responded to effectively.
  • Professional maturity and impeccable ethics and integrity.
  • Ability to travel. Travel is estimated at about 20%.
  • CUSECO: Certified USA export compliance Officer
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred not required in lieu of relevant experience

 

ITAR Requirements

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
