Who you are
The primary role for our Corporate Controller will be to provide Accounting support for both the finance team and a broad range of teammate “customers” who rely on timely and accurate accounting support and financial information. The individual will perform a flexible range of activities. This role will be responsible for managing the monthly accounting close process which includes the corporate consolidation and select financial reporting, as well to work closely with our external auditors and tax consultants on a wide range of corporate initiatives.

Your Mission

  • Manage the monthly close process
  • Manage the corporate consolidation
  • Lead the corporate tax reporting requirement with our external tax advisors
  • Review journal entries complete with necessary supporting documentation and schedules.
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
  • Provide account analysis where necessary to appropriately determine accruals or other estimates to be recorded in the general ledger
  • Maintain multiple financial schedules to ensure monthly updates are made and properly recorded in the financial statements
  • Perform technical accounting research to determine appropriate treatment for a variety of transactions under US GAAP and IFRS
  • Prepare and review supporting schedules for use in financial statements and/or footnote disclosures (US GAAP and IFRS).
  • Assist in providing critical financial information to other teammates within and outside of Finance
  • Lead the coordination of the annual financial statement audit and working with our external auditors on various accounting issues as needed
  • Support financial planning and analysis on bid & proposal efforts and on new programs and projects.
  • Perform data extractions & prepare reports to support financial statements.
  • Prepare periodic regulatory filings and other regulatory requirements.
  • Play a key role in general process improvements and process documentation for all facets of the accounting cycle as well as the continued development and documentation of our accounting policies and procedures.
  • Cultivate internal relations at all levels by providing support and a high level of customer service.
  • Perform various projects such as research, special projects & analysis as needed.
  • Ad hoc projects as directed
  • Support FP&A team during the monthly reporting and forecast processes. (e.g., participate in monthly review meetings, advise of changes in accounting policies or estimates, etc.)
  • Hire, train and develop accounting team members

What you bring

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in overall accounting, with at least 3-5 years of experience at a Big Four public accounting firm
  • At least 3 years of managing an accounting team
  • Strong budget/forecast and financial analysis skills.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of accounting rules to properly interpret and determine applicable accounting treatment.
  • Demonstrated experience with accounting systems and practices. Oracle experience a plus
  • Proven ability to present and explain financial data and analysis to both finance and non-finance audiences.
  • Strong administration/time management skills essential
  • Advanced intermediate level proficiency in all MS Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Must be inquisitive and able to solve problems creatively.
  • Exemplary written and oral communication skills required
  • Travel requirement: approximately 20% of the time
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Similar is required; CPA required
  • Creative individual with a keen eye for detail and precision
  • Effective in researching and recommending policies and procedures to all levels of management
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a project from conception to completion
  • Proactive and customer-service oriented individual, with a desire to solve problems and deliver timely and effective solutions
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus
  • Flexible attitude, with the uncanny ability to work well under pressure and with ‘on the spot’ priority situations in a quick and effective manner
