Who You Are
TSC is seeking first rate qualified Drilling Technician experienced in simultaneously drilling through hard, dissimilar materials such as titanium and carbon. This role is for a hands-on person with great attention to detail with strong analytical skills, a proven mechanical aptitude and excellent people skills. In this position, the Drilling Technician will coordinate with engineers and supervisors when planning and designing drilling operations and will provide post drilling operational analysis. The main priorities for this role include the ability to execute precise measurements and precision drilling operations, repair and maintain the drilling equipment, possess drilling equipment knowledge with the aptitude to assess and maintain equipment in its proper working order, the ability to provide equipment diagnostics and identifying existing defects, and the capability to disassemble and repair the drilling equipment, when necessary.

Your Mission

  • Functional testing and troubleshooting aptitude to maintain and repair drilling equipment.
  • Comprehension to follow instructions to consistently and precisely measure and drill holes using scales, calipers and drilling equipment.
  • Must be able to use hands tools, power drills and fixtures such as molds and mandrels.
  • Work closely with engineering and supervisors to develop safe and efficient drilling plans.

What you bring

  • Proven experience in simultaneously drilling multi-layer materials consisting of Carbon and Titanium.
  • Full understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing system.
  • Knowledge of material contaminations.
  • Extreme analytical skills with the capability of calculating mathematical measurements.
  • Strong understanding and comprehension of verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent coordination, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Proficiency Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Extreme attention to detail and continual pursuit of perfection.
  • Strong safety work ethic – recognizes the importance of properly handing hazardous materials, chemicals, tools, etc. and ensuring a personal health and safety environment.
  • Must be able to work in a loud environment.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule with extended hours that may include nights and weekends.
  • Ability to periodically lift 50-75 pounds, as required.
  • Ability to meet medical and Cal/OSHA requirements for respirator use.
  • Applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by the ITAR (22 CFR §120.15).

Educational Requirements

  • 7-10 years of relevant experience with composite and metallic drilling.
  • Two-year associate degree program in drilling technology, or One-year certificate program in drilling technology, preferred.
  • Specific training for drilling machines.
  • Associate of Applied Science in Heavy Machine Technology, preferred.
