Who you are
Virgin Galactic is seeking an experienced Compensation and Total Rewards Partner to oversee our compensation and benefits, areas, with some additional project support on relocation processes. The ideal candidate would have experience in all three areas (strongest experience within compensation is desired) while having the ability to thrive in a culture where creativity and being detailed-oriented go hand in hand.

 

Location: Starts in Mojave, CA with an anticipated relocation to Las Cruces, NM (May be flex for right person)

Your Mission

  • Perform market analyses regarding compensation and review requests for cost of living increases, salary adjustments, and merits
  • Review and update current job leveling to reflect accurate salary bands
  • Create communications regarding open enrollment, changes in benefits, and other updates
  • Update benefits for employees and participants in the HRIS system
  • Perform periodic audits and keep updated employee records with all relevant information
  • Administer STD/FLMA and other types of LOAs according to state and federal laws
  • Manage the wellness vendors and generate communications about events, challenges, and new programs
  • Provide guidance and assistance on answering employee policy and procedure questions; Investigate and resolve complex problems regarding benefits related questions
  • Process relocation requests, partner with our moving management company, and serve as the center point-of-contact for relocation inquiries 

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or other related field required
  • 3-5 years of compensation, benefits, and relocation is required; experience within a similar start-up environment is strongly preferred
  • Experience with managing multiple plans that include retirement, health, medical, dental, vision, life, etc.
  • Experience serving as the point of contact for all new hire enrollment plans and communications
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Experience in handling all benefits, compensation, and relocation related inquiries
  • Understands the importance of confidentiality
  • Excellent analytical and math skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively use MS Office applications, including intermediate Excel and Outlook skills
  • Ability to independently analyse and solve problems
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels in the organization
  • Must be a “U.S. person” as defined by the ITAR (22 CFR §120.15).

Physical and/or Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to work flexible hours outside of normal business hours.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight spaces.
  • Physically able to handle items weighing up to 40lbs (unassisted).
